KOREA FA

President of Korea Football Association:Mong Gyu CHUNG

Dear football fans in east Asia,

Korea Republic have always been a proud member of the East Asian federation, and the fact will remain the same in the future.
Although we have to face each other across the half line and fight for victory sometimes, football is a great teacher for us to learn something more than competition. We always learn through the games mutual understanding and friendship between the competitors.
All the glories that Korea Republic have achieved so far could not have been possible without our neighbours in east Asia. You may all know that the co-hosting the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea and Japan was a symbolic event of togetherness in east Asian football.
We are now walking alongside each other talking about football. Through our friendship, football in east Asia will continue to flourish. When all the people in east Asia enjoy and benefit from the game, our efforts will prove worthwhile.
We will always listen to your voices.
Let us talk about football in east Asia, for our friends over the half line.

Internally, the Korea Football Association is aiming at the balanced development of all fields of football from the youth to the professional level. KFA’s goal is to raise the national prestige and to promote the sport in general by organising and supporting the national teams at various levels.
Internationally, since the foundation of the Korea Football Association 80 years ago, Korean football has been making continuous progress, cementing its image as a leader of Asia in the 20th century and a powerhouse of the world in the 21th century. They wrote a new chapter in history by reaching the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup and by making their seventh consecutive appearance at the finals, for the first time as an Asian team.
Korean football has developed into a higher level in the past decade and has grown into a bigger organisation. The KFA has appointed Chung Mong-Gyu as the 52nd president who will lead the KFA for the next four years. The KFA is ready for a bright future with the new president.
