Name of Coach : Masanaga Kageyama
Masanaga Kageyamawas appointed head coach of the men’s national team of Macau in 2006. Head Coach Kageyama obtained an AFC Professional Diploma Coach License last year with excellent marks. From 2001 to 2005, he served as coach at Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

In the 1st East Asian Football Championship preliminary competition held in 2003, Macau-China captured a win from Mongolia and Guam, finishing third out of five teams. Just a few years back, in the 2000 Asian Cup qualifiers, Macau-China showed outstanding tenacity, holding back Japan's ruthless attacks to a 0-3 lossムa great improvement compared to the 0-10 defeat to Japan in the past. As the whistle blew, Macau-China's players clutched their fists as though they had won, but their gesture was an expression of their confidence that they can compete evenly with a FIFA World Cup™ finalist like Japan. Their progress can be attributed to the influence of Eiji Ueda (current head coach of Shonan Bellmare) and Masataka Imai (current head coach of Jubilo Iwata's satellite team) who were assigned by the Japan Football Association to coach in Macau-China. Joao Lopez, a native from Macau-China who coached the Macau-China national team for years, claimed that "Macau-China's football has improved, thanks to the Japanese coaches who consider organization and discipline as very important." From February 1, 2006, Masanaga Kageyama has taken the helm as the national team head coach. Kageyama served as a technical staff for the Japan national side and was also the assistant coach for J.League's San Frecce Hiroshima. Veteran GK Domingos Chan keenly says, "Head coach Kageyama uses whoever is playing well, regardless of age. Everyone has a chance under him so the motivation among the players is very high."
