EAFF President’s message

Dear all families of the East Asian Football Federation,

Hafa Adai!

It is our great pleasure to hold the first round of Preliminary for 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup in Guam.

First, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Guam Football Association for organizing this preliminary round. We are certain that the hard work of GFA will bring success to this competition, which will be exemplary to all football associations around the world.

For the past 10 years, this competition has been playing a key role in strengthening the bond of friendship in East Asia, as well as establishing a strong solidarity of membership within the East Asian Football Federation.

For the first time, we planned new match formats and competition system to further improve the competence of our Federation.

Furthermore, we believe that all participants will play the game with the sense of fair play and fellowship. And let this be an opportunity for our players to enjoy and leave a strong impression on football fans around the world with their outstanding abilities.

Once again, I would like to thank Guam Football Association for all its effort and to those of you who gave us full support to help us reach where we are today.

Guam Football Association President’s message

Hafa Adai Dear EAFF members and Executive members,

On behalf of the Guam Football Association, its Executive Committee Members and all the volunteers who have assisted in the preparations for this wonderful event, it is my honor and great pleasure to welcome you to our beautiful island. For some it is a return to paradise and for others, it is their first glimpse into our beautiful island, its unique culture and friendly people.

We wish all the participants good luck in their matches and hope each team is blessed with good health and above all else, good sportsmanship. This is a part of the game that is very important to the growth and honor of our game and should not be lost in the heat of the battles on the pitch or among the fans. We have no doubt our region is a shining example of great sportsmanship in all competitions and we hope we can continue to show the world and more importantly, our young players and fans, that competing at a high level does not go hand in hand with unsportsmanlike behavior among participants or from its supporters.

I wish to thanks the EAFF ex-co to give the trust and confident to GFA to host this wonderful qualifier round on Guam.

Sinseru yan Magåhet,
Richard K. Lai
