
The 2006 AFC Women’s Asian Cup 3rd/4th place match was held on July 30 at the Hindmarsh Stadium (Adelaide) between DPR Korea and Japan. DPR Korea battled to a 3-2 victory and clutched 3rd place, gaining a slot in the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be hosted by China PR in September of next year.
Chinese Taipei’s women football team joined AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2006 in Adelaide, Australia from July 19-23, but got the worst result in the history. After three loses in a row, 0-2 China, 1-11 Japan, and 0-1 Vietnam, Chinese Taipei’s young girls seem not prepare enough for this tournament and need more international-game experience. The result 1-11 against Japan is the biggest lose in Chinese Taipei’s women football history in Asian Cup. And Vietnam beat Chinese Taipei in competitive games is also the first time.
FC Seoul drew with their biggest rivals in the K League, Suwon Samsung Bluewings 1-1 in the 12th round match of the 2006 Samsung Hauzen Cup competition and clinched the cup with 27 points with one more match to play in the competition. Suwon dominated the match with the latest transfer from the Daejeon Citizens, midfielder LEE Kwan Woo and the newly arrived foreign striker, Oliveira from Columbia who scored the first goal of the match in the 71st minute.
Hong Kong U-14 Team has arrived at Beijing on 19 July. The Centre is distant to Beijing around journey of one and half hour. The environment and facilities of the Centre are good and suitable for training. There are six pitches in the Centre and one of them is artificial turf and the others are natural grass. As we arrived at the Centre around 6:00 pm, no training has been arranged on 19-Jul. We have the dinner at the restaurant and the meals are provided in buffet style. After dinner, we have a briefing session with players to remind them the rules of this trip.
The EAFF U-14 Youth Festival was successfully held at the CFA National Training Center with the participation of ten teams. The China PR U-14 team was crowned champion after finally beating Korea Rep. 1-0.
