On the 21st the Korea Rep. football association announced their 18 man U-23 squad to compete at the upcoming Beijing Olympics as well as 4 back up players. National team players such as FW PARK Chu Young were among those chosen.
On July 16th the Korea Rep. U-23 team who will take part in the Beijing Olympics played an international friendly versus Guatemala and won 2-1.
Round 15 of the K-League was held on the 19th and 20th.
Beijing Olympic home team, the China PR women, played international friendly matches versus fellow Olympic competitors New Zealand on the 17th and the 20th, winning back to back 3-1 and 1-0.
Round 17 of the J-League was held on the 16th and 17th.

The Chinese Men’s Olympic under 23 (U-23) representative team took on Vietnam on the 7th and Malaysia on the 13th in home international friendlies, winning both.
On the 14th at JFA House in Tokyo the Japan Football Association announced the under 23 (U-23) 18 man squad to represent Japan at the Beijing Olympic Games.
The Osaka International Football Festival 2008 was held from the 11th to the 13th at the Osaka Nagai stadium.

On the 11th the Japan Football Association announced that the Japan national team will play South American legends Uruguay on August 20th in Sapporo as part of the Kirin Challenge Cup 2008. This is another part of the team’s preparation for the final regional qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The 10th was the final day for the 10 teams from the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) competing in the “EAFF U-14 Youth Festival 2008 Guam” and Korea Rep were crowned champions following their 4th straight win of the finals league having come through the entire tournament unbeaten (7 wins, 1 draw). China PR finished as runners up losing to Korea Rep 0-1 with a record of 3 wins, 1 loss in the finals league. In the bottom league the day’s play saw Guam win a competitive match over Chinese Taipei 2-1 to win that group with a record of 3 wins, 1 draw. Overall they finished 6th. The golden boot of the tournament went to China PR FW HU Weiwei who scored 10 goals, a new tournament record.
The 10 member teams of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) taking part in the “EAFF Youth Festival 2008 Guam” played 3 matches in each of the finals league and bottom league on the 9th with Korea Rep. downing Hong Kong-China 1-0 and the protecting their lead at the top thanks to their second consecutive win following their victory over China PR the previous day (1-0).
An international friendly was held in Tianjin, China PR on the 9th between Beijing Olympic hosts, China PR and Australia, with China PR coming out big winners 5-0.
The squad lists for each of the J-ALLSTARS, made up of players from the J-League, and the K-ALLSTARS, made up of K-League players, to play in the “JOMO CUP 2008” (August 2nd in Tokyo’s National Stadium) were announced on the 7th.
On the 8th at JFA House in central Tokyo the Japan Football Association announced the 18 member squad and four back up players for the national women’s team (Nadeshiko Japan) to take part in the Beijing Olympic Games.
The 10 member teams of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) taking part in the “EAFF Youth Festival 2008 Guam” finished the group stages with 4 matches played in the morning of the 8th, the 3rd day of the tournament. In the afternoon of that same day the top 5 teams were split from the bottom 5 teams to proceed in play off leagues.
Round 15 of the J-League was played on the 5th and 6th.
The 10 teams from the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) taking part in the “EAFF U-14 Youth Festival 2008 Guam” played the 2nd day of the tournament on the 7th with 4 teams qualifying for the finals league; Japan and Korea Rep from Group A and China PR and DPR Korea from Group B.
The “EAFF Youth Festival 2008 Guam” kicked off on the 6th in Guam with 10 teams from countries and regions of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) taking part. Along with hosts, Guam, the under 14 teams taking part were from China PR, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, DPR Korea, Korea Rep, Macau-China, Mongolia and quasi-association Northern Marianas.
The groups for the qualifying tournament to decide who plays at the “AFC Asian Cup Doha 2011” in Qatar in 2011 were decided on the 3rd.
