PRESIDENT GREETING

Warm greetings to all the East Asian football family members.

It gives me a great pleasure and honor to have been elected as President of the EAFF at the 6th EAFF Congress held in Seoul on March 19.

Since its foundation in 2002, EAFF has contributed handsomely to the development of football in East Asia, as can be seen in the recent performances of our senior men and women, youth and Futsal teams, by building on the trust and cooperation among our member associations.

The outstanding results that our teams have achieved at the recent FIFA World Cup, Olympic Football Tournament, Asian Cup and other various level men and women’s FIFA youth competitions clearly show that East Asian football is approaching the world standard beyond Asia.

This year, we are planning to organize the U-22 Youth Championship in preparation for the London Olympic Football Tournament and the U-15 Youth Festival aimed at promoting technical development of youth football in our region. I would like to invite all EAFF family members to show greater interest and support for all the EAFF tournaments taking in our midst.

Faced with such daunting challenges as global economic crisis and catastrophic natural disasters, it is certainly an important task to enhance the marketing values of EAFF. I firmly believe that all the members of the EAFF family will be able to pool our wisdom and strength to overcome these current challenges.

First and foremost, we will focus our efforts on the successful organization of the EAFF Championship 2013 to be held in Korea. At the same time, we will continue our efforts to put in place programs for further developing women and youth football in our region.

As President of EAFF, I am calling for the active support and cooperation from all our member associations to help develop East Asian football and to ensure the unity and solidarity of the East Asian football family.

Thank you very much.

Chung Yun CHO
