This seminar was hosted in collaboration with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the support from the Chinese Football Association, the host association of the Competition. Ten member associations, China PR, Chinese Taipei, DPR Korea, Guam, Hong Kong-China, Japan, Korea Republic, Macau, Mongolia and Northern Mariana Islands, took part in this commemorative edition of the seminar.
The seminars were designed in two separate structures where the Part One of the seminar was conducted for the match officials, who were the adults who have the obligation of protecting children from harm and Part Two where players of each team were given a private session with the lecturers to better their understanding on their rights to be protected from harm in the football environment.
Yosuke MIHARA, the General Secretary of the EAFF said: “It is our great pleasure to be able to launch our first Child Safeguarding seminar with the support from the AFC and CFA. It was also a nice surprise to find out through our private sessions with the teams, that the players already had good basis of understanding on this topic. We are sincerely thankful for the support the AFC and the CFA have generously extended to make this seminar successful and we hope to continue with this activity to ensure the safety of our youth players in our region.”
