이번 결과로 한국은 10일 오후 8시 서울월드컵경기장에서 예정된 쿠웨이트와의 3차 예선 마지막 경기 결과와 상관없이 최소 B조 2위를 확보하며 월드컵 본선 출전을 확정지었다. 팀당 1경기만 남겨둔 시점에서 현재 B조 순위는 한국(5승 4무, 승점 19점), 요르단(16점), 이라크(12점), 오만(10점), 팔레스타인(9점), 쿠웨이트(5점) 순이다. .....
